Voices of Nipmuc - Announcements April 7 - 11, 2014


 
 
Morning Announcements:
Nipmuc Drama's production of "Once on this Island" is opening tonight - 4/11 - at 7:30 p.m.  Tickets are $7 for students and senior citizens and $10 for adults.  The performance will also run Saturday night, 4/12 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday afternoon, 4/13 at 2 p.m.  Hope to see you there!

All STEM Scholars who will be participating in career shadowing experiences next week (4/14 - 4/18) should stop by the main office on Monday, 4/14, to receive paperwork for their visits.

Any student interested in traveling to Paris and Barcelona during April vacation 2015 - please stop by Ms. Reardon's room 136 to pick up information.  An informational meeting will be held of students and parents on Thursday, May 1st at 7 p.m. in room 136.

Humanities Scholars - meeting today with Mr. Merten - Thursday, 4/10, during second break.  Attendance is mandatory. 

Attention Seniors!! Please be aware that Graduation Speaker Auditions have been changed to Thursday, April 17th.  Please see Mr. Michael Clements in room 220 if you are interested in auditioning.

Nipmuc bangle bracelets for sale by the class of 2015.  Bracelets have the Nipmuc logo - on sale for $20 each.  Please see Sr. Soto or Maddie Neri to place an order.

Attention Seniors:  If you did not attend the Graduation Information Meeting last week, please pick up your packet from Mrs. Linehan in the office as soon as possible.

Impact Team members who would like to volunteer at the Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday (4/12), please see Mrs. Field before the end of the day today (4/8)!

Olivia Giardini - please see Mrs. Grady in the office today (Tuesday, 4/8)

Any sophomore attending the Health Care Career Fair field trip on April 29th must have permission slips and money in to Mrs. Field (rm. 120) by April 17th.

Walk for Hunger – Project Bread is an organization that promotes hunger awareness.  Project Bread sponsors Walk for Hunger on Sunday, May 5th in Boston.  All those interested in participating in this year’s walk, please see Autumn Morrice for more details.

Attention Seniors:  If you have any questions about the obligations form you received, please see Mr. Clements or Mrs. Moran during your break on Thursday, April 10th, in the office conference room.

Drivers Education Program – applications are available in the office and on the school web site for the next Drivers Ed Program beginning on Tuesday, April 29th, 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. for 5 weeks.  Please bring your completed application with payment to the main office.

Yearbook Announcements: 
·         Club and Activity picture day is next Monday, April 14th. 
·         Yearbook Meeting is Wednesday, April 9, from 2 – 3 p.m. in Mrs. Alibozek’s room 235.
·         Underclassmen:  Please order your yearbooks now on the NIpmuc Yearbook site.

National Honor Society canned food drive begins this weekend.  Please sign up to help in Mrs. Kyrka’s room 217.
Help support the Class of 2015 raise money for prom.  Pick up a flyer in the office or media center to register for the Wiffle Ball Tournament at the Nipmuc Fair on June 7th.  Cost is $5 per person and $45 per team.  Forms are due back by May 1st.  See Emily Santos or Cullen Farragher for more details.

Anyone who would like to take a VHS class next year should stop by the media center to pick up an application.  All applications need to be handed in as soon as possible.
Mr. Nipmuc DVDs are available for sale for $5.  See Mr. Ferris in the office for your copy.

 
Guidance Announcements:
An Admissions Counselor from Ithaca College will hold an information session in the guidance office on Wednesday, April 16th at 1:15 p.m.  Sophomores and Juniors interested in learning more about Ithaca College should sign up in the guidance office.

Attention Seniors:  Please bring a copy of all your decision letters to your guidance counselor.

Reminder to Seniors to check the guidance blog often for scholarship applications and note deadline dates.  Many scholarships require letters of recommendation and transcripts.  Please give your counselor enough time to process your application.  Please stop in the guidance office if you have any questions about the scholarship process.
Attention Sophomores and Juniors:  Mark your calendars for the Providence National College Fair on Saturday, April 26 from 12 – 3 p.m. at the Rhode Island Convention Center.  For more information, pick up a flyer in the guidance office.
