Announcements 1/13 - 17, 2014

Morning Announcements
Attention Seniors: This is the last week to complete the on-line yearbook surveys, including the "likes/dislikes/memory/quote" survey.  Don't miss out on being included in your 2014 yearbook!

Attention Students and Faculty: Join us in our attempt to raise money and awareness for ALS, or Lou Gehrig's disease, by attending a dinner on January 24th from 6-8 p.m. in the Nipmuc cafeteria.  There will be raffles and guest speakers along with a chance to win autographed items by Curt Schilling.  Tickets are $8 in advance, or $10 at the door.  Contact Ellie Baynham, Katie Cook, or Meghan Elliott for more information.

Attention all Juniors who have not had a parking permit this school year:  Please see Mrs. Grady in the office if you would like an application for a parking permit for terms 3 and 4.  This is only open to juniors who did not have a parking permit for terms 1 and 2.  Applications must be completed and turned in to Mrs. Grady by Thursday, January 16th.

A ski trip to Loon Mountain is scheduled for Saturday, January 25th.  Please submit your forms ASAP! Flyers are in the office with further information.  Permission forms must be completed by Tuesday, January 21st.  See Mrs. Ahmed-Jussaume in green wing, room 312 with any questions.

Art club will meet on Tuesday, January 14th from 2:00-3:00 in Mr. Campbell's room 117.  The club is planning a big project, so please come and help! For more information, contact Molly King.

Drama auditions begin today, Monday, 1/13.  Auditions will also be held on Thursday, 1/16.  All actors must also be available on Wednesday, 1/15 for the dance auditions and on Friday, 1/17 for possible callbacks. We are also looking for experienced dancers.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Tremblay or Sarah Prescott.  Sign up on the sheet on the auditorium doors. Hope to see you there!

News from the Athletic Department
Congratulations to sophomore Kevin Hack who set the Nipmuc, Dual Valley Conference, and Northbridge High School record in the high jump with a jump of 6 feet 3 inches!

Guidance Announcements
A Navy Recruiter will hold an information session in the guidance office on Wednesday, 1/15 at 1:30.  Please sign up in the guidance office if you would like to learn more about the United States Navy.

Are you interesting in becoming a lifeguard this summer?  Pick up a flyer in the guidance office for more information.

MA Pass in Westborough is looking for customer service assistants after school and weekends.  Pay is $8-$10/hour.  More information can be found in the guidance office.

Seniors are reminded to check the guidance blog often for scholarships and scholarship deadlines.  Many scholarships require letters of recommendation and transcripts.  Please make sure to give your counselor enough time to process your application before the scholarship deadline date.

Attention AP Students:  The deadline to register to take an AP Exam is Wednesday, January 22nd.  The registration fee for MMSI courses is $61.25 and all other AP course fees are $89.00.  Checks should be made payable to Nipmuc Regional High School and given to Mrs. Moore in the guidance office.  If you have any questions, please see Ms. Larracey in the guidance office.
