Nipmuc STEM Program

Earlier today we had the chance to share an exciting opportunity with the members of the Class of 2014. We met with juniors to explain the Nipmuc STEM Program and encourage their application to be part of this new group. This new initiative which is focused on the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics will provide students with a meaningful way to connect their experiences in Nipmuc’s classrooms with universities, the community, and the workplace.

Students who are accepted as part of the program will have the opportunity to:

  • take challenging courses in STEM-related subjects
  • gain first-hand knowledge of STEM programming at the collegiate level
  • acquire skills for workplace readiness
  • participate in a STEM-related internship

This program is being piloted during the 2013-14 school year. It is available only to members of the Class of 2014 for the upcoming school year.

As part of the pilot, we are creating a STEM advisory board of parents and community members who are involved with STEM-related fields. If you are willing to be part of this group or provide feedback to the board, please email Deborah Linehan at dlinehan@mursd.org.

Applications for junior students are due by June 14 at 2pm. You can access the application by clicking here
